If I could visit one place over and over, Venice would definitely be that place.
Jaden was thrilled when we revealed that we were to celebrate his birthday at the most special place in the world for them – Swaziland.
Getting out into the country is so important for the family. Especially, my lovely wife. All that commuting during the weekly grind takes a massive toll on her.
Swaziland is indeed a hidden gem. But I don’t want to talk to much about it for fear that once discovered it will be over-run by us Joburgers.

When I heard that the SAB World of Beer was voted the top tourist attraction in Jozi, I asked myself why haven’t I been there as yet. One Saturday, I decided to stop by before running some errands in Fordsburg. It was a superb choice.
Loved:
The efficiency of service.
The story behind of sweetheart SAB Miller.
The lunch at the bar on the top. Decent steak, egg and chips.
Curio shop stocks good quality merchandise at reasonable prices.
On par with the Heineken experience in Amsterdam.

I can still recall the energy and vibe at my last walk through the city of Jozi. Finally got a chance to delve into the so called ‘belly of the beast’ in touring Ponte City.
What a thrilling experience it turned out to be!
I had a terrible experience at the local Spar in Midstream last night. Was overcharged once again! This is becoming so annoying. Makes me think that these guys are doing it on purpose because who really scrutinizes their receipt nowadays.
Wish I could purchase my daily upkeep at another supermarket, but we are kind of stuck for choice.

If you ever at a loss for something to do on a Sunday, why not drive over to the quaint little village of Hartbeespoort. The Harties Cableway is just stunning and first class, following its recent upgrade.
When you are finished, why not do what we love to do and head over to the Tandoori Kitchen at the Chameleon Village nearby, for arguably the best butter chicken north of Ghazals.
Remember to save a few bucks by buying your tickets online. Also, the venue is also weather permitting.
Caution: It is not mentioned on the website – but do take care if you are allergic to bee stings. There are quite a lot of bees at the top, near the pizza shack.

This is really a hidden gem in Pretoria. I learnt of it by chance when browsing around Facebook and decided to visit the market one Saturday.
All I can say is – unbelievable. It truly is foodie heaven. The number of delights on offer is enormous. From the lamb shuwama, roosterkoek, jaffles, dim sum to korean food. My goodness, just make sure you go there hungry.
The vibe is on the chilled side, and thus is a good place for a family outing.
I loved it !!

My GPS navigator took me there quite easily. Hazel Food Market is situated in Greenlyn Village Centre in Menlo Park, open every Saturday from 08h00 to 14h00.

Just be prepared to be patient for parking. It can be chaotic at times.

Remember to walk around the back. There is a lady selling absolutely gorgeous pieces of silver jewelry at good prices.
There’s something wonderfully special about buying flowers for someone you care about.
Is not about the flowers themselves but more about the gesture. Flowers to me are essential in our our lifespace. They bring life to any surroundings.
Fortunately for me, my wife does not have any specific preference flowers. This allows me to really choose from the beautiful variety of flowers for her.
